This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Lead technical sales initiatives for designated Tier 2 service provider clients in the UK.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor, converting customer priorities into effective solution architectures.
• Spearhead technical sales engagements encompassing routing, switching, security, automation, assurance, and cloud operations.
• Own and drive technical sales strategies along with technical account plans.
• Identify and qualify customer needs, operational challenges, and desired outcomes.
• Design and recommend HPE Networking solutions by leveraging the broader HPE portfolio and partner ecosystem.
• Conduct executive and technical presentations, whiteboarding sessions, architecture workshops, demonstrations, events, evaluations, and proofs of concept.
• Establish and nurture relationships with technical decision-makers, architects, operations teams, procurement stakeholders, and partners.
• Lead technical responses to RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes, including solution compliance, high-level designs, bills of materials, risk assessment, and technical validation.
• Coordinate HPE specialists and internal resources to achieve customer outcomes.
• Gather customer requirements, market trends, and competitive insights, providing feedback to product management and business units.
• Maintain precise opportunity and activity records while supporting the account team throughout the complete sales cycle.
• Continuously enhance technical, industry, and competitive knowledge, sharing expertise with colleagues and customers.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Account Managers, specialists, product teams, partners, and colleagues across HPE.
• Travel within the UK and occasionally internationally as needed.
• Generally, 6+ years of relevant experience in service provider networks within technical pre-sales, Sales/Systems Engineering, consulting, or network architecture.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Expert-level comprehension of IP routing technologies and protocols.
• Strong familiarity with MPLS and segment routing.
• Practical experience in service provider routing.
• Background in one or more adjacent areas: data center switching, network security, automation, network virtualization, cloud networking, or observability and assurance.
• Proven experience in designing resilient, scalable, and operationally supportable network solutions.
• Desirable knowledge of network automation and programmability using Python, Ansible, NETCONF, YANG, REST APIs, JSON, and OpenConfig.
• Understanding of service provider security, DDoS protection, zero-trust principles, or secure managed services is advantageous.
• Awareness of service provider market trends and emerging use cases, including AI infrastructure, network-as-a-service, sustainability, and operations automation.
• Familiarity with HPE Networking products and solutions is a plus.
• Capability to create and deliver demonstrations or proofs of concept.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and whiteboarding abilities.
• Proficient in communicating complex topics to network engineers and senior technical and business leaders.
• Relevant industry certifications such as JNCIP/JNCIE, CCNP/CCIE, CISSP, or HPE technical certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
