Systems Engineer – Ingénieur en systèmes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Conduct customer presentations

• Prepare system staging

• Finalize system documentation

• Perform live system upgrades

• Maintain the integrity of the architecture/design

• Execute field engineering tasks during a radio system upgrade cycle

• Manage the upgrade/deployment of various devices, including network equipment, Windows-based systems, virtual machines, and Motorola proprietary devices

• Serve as the technical resource for customers throughout the upgrade process

• Travel to customer sites in BC, AB, or QC to fulfill responsibilities

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in Engineering or Wireless Communications

• Experience or knowledge in radio communication systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless, or broadband/LTE

• Familiarity with Project 25 products (both trunked and conventional)

• Solid understanding of IP networking, network design methodologies, and troubleshooting (Ethernet, TCP/IP, L2/L3, MPLS)

• Experience in installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of:

• Workstation Operating Systems, particularly Windows 10 and 11

• Switches, specifically Aruba and Juniper

• Firewalls, specifically Fortinet and Juniper

• Routers, specifically MNR and Juniper

• Experience with logging recording systems

• Proficiency in both English and French

• Aspiration to be a licensed Professional Engineer or possess the necessary academic and professional experience to achieve accreditation

• Strong preference for residing in the BC, AB, or QC region, with convenient access to a major airport
