System Safety Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.

📋 Description

• Assess whether vehicle variants in customer contract projects align with relevant laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines related to product safety.

• Compile evidence/documentation to demonstrate adherence to product safety requirements.

• Evaluate and analyze safety-critical requirements and activities beginning from the proposal stage.

• Identify relevant laws, standards, regulations, and guidelines.

• Provide project guidance and establish safety objectives.

• Create safety compliance documentation for various projects.

• Oversee safety-related verification and validation (V&V) processes.

• Perform system safety-related reviews, audits, and assessments both internally and externally.

• Track the execution and adherence to safety-related requirements.

• Enhance internal company safety processes, templates, and checklists.

• Ultimately assess compliance with product safety obligations and report findings to the product safety officer.

⛳️ Requirements

• A completed technical degree (university/technical college) or equivalent vocational training in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Automotive Engineering.

• Substantial professional experience in System Safety, ideally within the automotive industry.

• Comprehensive knowledge of safety standards, such as IEC 61508 and ISO 26262.

• Methodological expertise in hazard and risk analyses, including FMEA and FTA.

• Strong grasp of requirements management.

• Familiarity with IBM DOORS and APIS Pro.

• Solid understanding of product development processes.

• Systematic knowledge of project planning and project management.
