This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Leverages expertise in information technology (IT), automation systems, and the medication-use process to enhance patient care by facilitating technologies that promote safer and more cost-effective medication utilization.
• Involves management of automation and technology systems, project oversight, and training and educational initiatives.
• Acts as a resource for pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members regarding requests for changes to pharmacy systems.
• Collaborates with the Manager of Pharmacy Automation and other BH leaders to implement, integrate, and uphold evidence-based and regulatory standards for clinical and operational pharmacy services.
• Provides on-site professional consultative oversight for the maintenance, enhancement, evaluation, and deployment of pharmacy computer software systems and automation.
• Supports applications related to pharmacy information software and pharmacy automation.
• Oversees and drives the pharmacy’s informatics and technology/automation improvement projects.
• Coordinates and manages the effects of automation and technology in the medication use process.
• Ensures the integration, standardization, and upkeep of pharmacy technology and automation systems.
• Evaluates systems and operations related to medication storage, preparation, and distribution to guarantee cost-effective and optimal delivery of medication therapy.
• Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Holds a Kentucky Board of Pharmacy and Indiana Board of Pharmacy license or is willing and eligible to obtain one within 12 months of hire.
• A minimum of 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience (or equivalent experience) is required.
• Experience in pharmacy automation is preferred.
• Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-2 residency in Pharmacy Informatics (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
• Proficiency with Omnicell/Parata, EPIC, and other pharmacy-related technologies is preferred.
