This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Performs benefits investigations for all new patients as well as existing patients who have changes in their insurance to ascertain coverage for enteral nutrition products and services.
• Ensures that all necessary documentation—including initial and ongoing forms—is accurately filled out, clearly legible, and stored in the patient chart according to Amerita’s Enteral Nutrition Requirements.
• Coordinates and schedules the prompt dispensing of enteral formulas and supplies; actively manages inventory and provides patient support throughout the duration of care.
• Collects and records patient supply inventories and compliance updates, communicating relevant information to the appropriate clinical and operational teams.
• Monitors and follows up on active insurance authorizations, physician orders, clinical documentation, and any outstanding paperwork to guarantee continuity of care.
• Triage patient concerns and directs them to clinical staff as necessary, utilizing established screening protocols.
• Actively engages in departmental meetings, branch operations, and quality improvement initiatives as assigned.
• Adheres to all relevant Accreditation, OSHA, FDA, state, local, and federal regulations pertaining to infusion pharmacy and home medical equipment.
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent is required; some college or technical training (Pharmacy or Dietetic Technician) is preferred.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in a home care or hospital environment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Strong mathematical and communication skills are required.
• At least 1 year of experience in enteral nutrition service within a hospital or home infusion setting.
• General understanding of enteral feeding terminology, enteral nutrition products, and supplies.
• Ability to work independently, accurately, and efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with all levels of management and staff, along with a comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy terminology and processes.
• Capacity to multitask effectively in a demanding environment.
• Outstanding organizational skills and mindfulness.
