System Engineering Manager, Federal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead and motivate a high-achieving team within the Public Sector/Federal organization

• Provide guidance to pre-sales Systems Engineers who support US Government National Security Agencies and the Defense Industrial Base

• Exhibit effective people development skills in a swiftly changing technical environment

• Aid in crafting and implementing technical sales strategies

• Advocate for team members while emphasizing their growth and development

• Propel operational excellence by establishing a team support methodology and assessing technical demand

• Model the company’s values through exemplary leadership

• Cultivate an understanding of customer business drivers and their decision-making processes

• Serve as the lead technical officer within the designated territory

• Fine-tune sales strategies and tactics while overseeing technical responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and domain expertise in storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and DAS, NAS, and SAN solutions

• Empower the team to identify requirements and convert customer needs into effective solutions

• Draft RFI and RFP responses as necessary

• Seek out opportunities for interoperability, functionality, and performance testing and validation

• Facilitate discussions on roadmaps and planning

• Keep track of market trends and the competitive landscape to foster thought leadership

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of management experience leading high-performing Sales Engineers targeting US Federal and Intelligence Accounts

• More than 10 years of experience in supporting the sales of storage, networking, or systems solutions to large accounts and data centers

• Extensive knowledge of US Government IT architecture, including multi-tiered client/server and web-based computing solutions

• Proven experience in setting team strategies to attract new prospects and convert them into clients

• Familiarity with storage architectures: FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, and SAN

• Strong understanding of Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers

• Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking principles

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field and/or equivalent experience

• Active security clearance is required
