
System Engineer – Managed Kubernetes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.
• Automate the deployment, monitoring, and management of Kubernetes clusters across Leaseweb's global compute offerings.
• Investigate, assess, and implement new Kubernetes versions and components, providing guidance on best practices and identifying potential issues prior to production.
• Assist customers and the development team with Leaseweb's Kubernetes products.
• Incorporate new features into Leaseweb's Kubernetes offerings.
• Participate in regular on-call responsibilities as the Engineer on Duty.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes, including the deployment and management of clusters in production environments.
• Experience in operating Kubernetes at scale, managing multiple clusters across various environments.
• Proficient in Helm and Kustomize for application packaging and deployment.
• Familiarity with ArgoCD or a similar GitOps tool for continuous delivery, along with a solid understanding of GitOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and DevOps principles.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or demonstrable expertise in Kubernetes networking and storage fundamentals (CNI plugins, Ingress controllers, API Gateway patterns, Storage Classes) and cluster lifecycle management using ClusterApi.
• Experience designing cloud-native applications with a focus on resilience and scalability.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu and Flatcar) with experience in performing standard system administration tasks (OS maintenance, DNS, backups).
• Effective communication skills in English.
