System Engineer, IBM POWER, AIX

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Lithuania.

📋 Description

• Administer, configure, monitor, and oversee the lifecycle of IBM POWER systems operating on AIX.

• Conduct performance optimization, manage patches, and resolve issues.

• Develop, maintain, and regularly update comprehensive system, architecture, and environment documentation.

• Design, create, and implement automation solutions utilizing scripting and orchestration tools.

• Assist in the architectural design, setup, configuration, and ongoing management of new infrastructure components.

• Plan and carry out system rollouts, upgrades, and migrations.

• Perform risk assessments, testing, stakeholder coordination, and validation post-migration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in the administration and configuration of AIX systems within enterprise settings.

• Strong background in managing enterprise storage infrastructures, such as HP 3PAR and IBM V7000.

• Experience with various Unix/Linux distributions.

• Proficient in shell scripting for automation and problem resolution.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Methodical, independent, and accountable approach to work.

• High degree of customer focus.

• Service-oriented and solution-focused mindset.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Business-fluent English proficiency, both written and spoken.

• Proficiency in German is viewed as an asset.
