System Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Deploy and oversee software, user access, and system configurations within a hybrid (on-premises and cloud) infrastructure.

• Administer and maintain Linux-based systems across both on-premises and cloud environments (approximately 70% of the environment), encompassing provisioning, patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

• Provide support for Windows environments (around 30%), including essential services such as Active Directory, DNS, RDS, and Group Policy.

• Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure in AWS (the primary cloud), including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, and CloudWatch.

• Support and maintain infrastructure in GCP environments (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM), as part of a multi-cloud architecture.

• Construct and maintain infrastructure as code utilizing Terraform and automate configuration management through Ansible.

• Develop and sustain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or PowerShell.

• Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, EC2, Compute Engine) and provide support for both physical and virtual servers (HP Proliant, HP MSA).

• Administer and maintain storage systems, including SAN/NAS and cloud storage (S3, EBS, Google Cloud Storage, Filestore).

• Configure and troubleshoot networking components across cloud and on-premises environments, including VPCs, VPNs, load balancers, DNS, and firewalls.

• Collaborate with enterprise networking and security devices (Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, Forcepoint).

• Implement and uphold monitoring and observability solutions (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix) to ensure system health and performance.

• Establish backup, disaster recovery, and data protection strategies that are operational (Veeam, AWS Backup, GCP Backup and DR).

• Enforce security best practices, IAM policies, and compliance standards throughout hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructures.

• Collaborate with DevOps, Security, Monitoring, and DBA teams to guarantee reliable and scalable system operations.

• Maintain comprehensive and current documentation of systems, processes, and configurations (CMDB).

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Linux system administration in production settings.

• Experience managing hybrid infrastructures (on-premises + cloud).

• Demonstrated expertise with AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch).

• Experience with GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM) in a multi-cloud setup.

• Practical experience with Terraform and/or Ansible for automating infrastructure.

• Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, load balancing).

• Experience managing both physical and virtual servers, including provisioning and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, EC2, Compute Engine).

• Proficiency in scripting with Bash, Python, or PowerShell.

• Experience using monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix).

• Strong understanding of security best practices, IAM, and access control measures.

• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, AWS Backup, GCP Backup, DR).
