Linux Systems Administrator – AIML

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Oversee, track, and maintain Ubuntu and Red Hat Linux servers in both production and staging environments.

• Conduct system upgrades, kernel updates, manage patches, and optimize performance.

• Establish and manage user access, enforce security policies, and develop backup/recovery strategies.

• Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware, operating systems, and networks.

• Sustain configuration management and deployment pipelines utilizing tools like Ansible, Puppet, or their equivalents.

• Monitor system health and resource usage; ensure maximum uptime and performance efficiency.

• Work collaboratively with DevOps and Cloud teams for environment provisioning (AWS, Azure, or on-premises).

• Administer server hardening, configure SSH, manage SSL certificates, and ensure compliance with OS-level security standards.

• Engage in capacity planning, disaster recovery, and incident response initiatives.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and audit reports.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in Linux system administration (Ubuntu & Red Hat).

• Proficient in Bash scripting and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Shell, or basic Python).

• Familiar with monitoring solutions such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.

• Strong grasp of networking principles (DNS, DHCP, NFS, SSH, firewalls).

• Background in virtualization and containerization technologies (VMware, KVM, Docker, etc.).

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities for system logs, kernel problems, and service failures.

• Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipeline environments.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.

• Exceptional documentation and communication skills; capable of supporting global teams.
