This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.
• Oversee, track, and sustain Ubuntu and Red Hat Linux servers in both production and staging environments.
• Execute system upgrades, kernel updates, patch management, and performance optimization.
• Establish and oversee user access, security protocols, and strategies for backup and recovery.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, operating system, and network-related challenges.
• Maintain configuration management and deployment workflows utilizing Ansible, Puppet, or comparable tools.
• Monitor system health and resource usage; guarantee maximum uptime and performance.
• Work collaboratively with DevOps and Cloud teams for environment provisioning across AWS, Azure, or on-premises.
• Manage server hardening, SSH configurations, SSL certificates, and compliance with OS-level security standards.
• Engage in capacity planning, disaster recovery, and incident response initiatives.
• Develop and uphold comprehensive system documentation, SOPs, and audit reports.
• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in Linux system administration, specifically with Ubuntu and Red Hat.
• Proficient in Bash scripting and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Shell, or basic Python.
• Familiarity with monitoring platforms like Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
• Strong grasp of networking principles including DNS, DHCP, NFS, SSH, and firewalls.
• Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies, including VMware, KVM, and Docker.
• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities related to system logs, kernel issues, and service disruptions.
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipeline operations.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus.
• Exceptional documentation and communication skills, with the ability to support global teams effectively.
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Engineer (RHCE) certification is desirable.
• Experience in managing high-availability clusters, load balancing, and RAID management is preferred.
