SysOps Engineer – Automation, Platform Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.

📋 Description

• Automate the provisioning of servers, configuration, and operating system setup.

• Create scripts for system maintenance, including patching and upgrades.

• Streamline backup processes and conduct periodic recovery validation.

• Develop automation for disaster recovery (DR) execution and failover procedures.

• Implement auto-healing solutions for common system failures (such as restarting services and scaling resources).

• Integrate automation with monitoring tools to facilitate event-driven automation.

• Standardize system configurations and maintain golden images.

• Enhance failover preparedness by automating environment synchronization.

• Automate disaster recovery drills and generate reports (including RTO/RPO validation).

• Maintain a library of reusable automation templates and scripts.

• Collaborate with DevOps to standardize infrastructure practices (without direct ownership of CI/CD).

• Document automation processes, recovery protocols, and runbooks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Demonstrated experience in Systems Operations, Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Operations, or a related position.

• Strong expertise in Linux and/or Windows server administration.

• Proficient in scripting and automation using tools like PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar technologies.

• Practical experience with configuration management, system provisioning, and infrastructure automation tools.

• Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, failover, and business continuity processes.

• Experience in integrating automation with monitoring and alerting systems.

• Solid understanding of server lifecycle management and operational best practices.

• Capability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems and implement effective, sustainable solutions.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation abilities.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across various technical teams.

• Preferred experience in hybrid, on-premises, cloud, or multi-cloud environments.
