SysOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Implement customer environments and configure software with a lead time of 24 hours.

• Drive operational results that align with departmental SLA, cost, and automation objectives.

• Execute environment updates, migrations, and software upgrades.

• Utilize Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and alerting systems to proactively oversee customer environments and resolve availability issues.

• Manage daily service reliability according to established SLOs by tracking key operational metrics, responding to alerts, and aiding in availability goals.

• Discover opportunities for automation and enhancements in processes.

• Engage in on-call rotation to address production incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and implement preventive measures.

• Communicate effectively during incidents and contribute to post-incident reviews, providing clear written summaries for internal and external stakeholders.

• Identify and act on opportunities for cost optimization in Azure, aiding the department's FinOps and unit economic objectives.

• Provide outstanding customer service and technical support, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• 3-5 years of experience in cloud operations and infrastructure engineering.

• Certifications: AZ-104 Azure Administrator or equivalent demonstrated competency in Azure administration.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server 2022, IIS, and Microsoft SQL Server.

• Experience in automating processes using PowerShell, Azure PowerShell Modules, REST APIs, Terraform, or ARM Templates.

• Exposure to orchestration tools such as Terraform, ArgoCD, Ansible, Kubernetes platforms, and Azure Pipelines.

• Knowledge of identity management using Azure Entra ID, Okta, OpenID Connect, and SAML.

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot).

• Understanding of high-availability application architectures, utilizing traffic management and load-balancing strategies to ensure resilience, fault tolerance, and minimal service disruption.
