This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Develop, oversee, and enhance Inari’s business strategy in collaboration with the CEO and Leadership Team.
• Discover long-term growth prospects within core business segments, adjacent markets, innovative technologies, and new commercial frameworks.
• Convert market insights, competitive landscape, scientific capabilities, and customer requirements into actionable strategic goals.
• Create and uphold a multi-year strategic roadmap that aligns with capabilities, partnerships, investments, commercial prospects, and sustainability objectives.
• Design go-to-market strategies for innovative technologies, products, and platforms.
• Identify and evaluate potential partners in agriculture, food, technology, startups, research, and commercial channels.
• Facilitate the sourcing, evaluation, prioritization, and implementation of strategic collaborations, licensing agreements, joint development contracts, and commercial partnerships.
• Structure partnerships to advance technology development, product adoption, revenue growth, and market access.
• Establish and oversee frameworks for assessing, initiating, and managing collaborations, partnerships, and joint ventures.
• Monitor active collaborations to ensure alignment with strategic, financial, technical, and commercial goals.
• Lead cross-functional assessments of strategic alignment, commercial viability, revenue potential, margin analysis, market access, differentiation, and execution risks.
• Report directly to the CEO and participate as a member of the Inari Leadership Team.
• Lead, develop, and mentor the strategy and business development team.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred, such as MBA, PhD, JD, or a master's degree in business, agriculture, life sciences, biotechnology, engineering, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in strategy, business development, corporate development, licensing, strategic partnerships, innovation, commercial strategy, or similar leadership roles.
• Proven track record in leading strategic partnerships, collaborations, licensing deals, joint development agreements, M&A, or complex business development initiatives.
• Strong background and experience in agriculture, biotechnology, seed, crop protection, and biologicals.
• Capability to assess technical, commercial, financial, and strategic aspects of business opportunities.
• Experience engaging with senior executives, Boards, external partners, investors, and strategic customers.
• Strong financial expertise, including business case formulation, deal modeling, ROI evaluation, and valuation principles.
• Legal, IP, and licensing knowledge to support negotiation strategies.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without relying solely on direct authority.
• Excellent executive communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing strategy/business development team.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Preferred: experience in agriculture technology, seed, crop protection, gene editing, and biologicals.
• Preferred: experience in venture-backed, growth-stage, or innovation-focused companies.
• Preferred: experience with strategic players, research institutions, startups, or global commercial organizations.
• Preferred: familiarity with intellectual property, licensing frameworks, technology transfer, research collaborations, and commercialization pathways.
• Preferred: capability to incorporate data and AI strategy into overall company strategy.
• Preferred: proven history of creating business models, market opportunities, or partnership ecosystems.
• Preferred: global business experience and the ability to navigate across diverse cultures, markets, and organizational structures.
