SVP, Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Shape the vision and execution for Toptal’s product and platform.

• Report directly to the CEO, participate on the executive team, and collaborate with leaders from Engineering, Design, Finance, Marketing, New Businesses, Professional Services, and Customer teams.

• Oversee Toptal’s AI product strategy across various areas including marketplace, talent and client experiences, internal systems, and go-to-market offerings.

• Determine whether to build or buy AI solutions, as well as decisions regarding tooling, packaging, and pricing.

• Establish AI quality standards through evaluations, acceptance criteria, and review processes.

• Collaborate with Engineering to enhance the AI and product platform.

• Redesign product workflows utilizing AI-assisted discovery, research, prototyping, and analysis.

• Own the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for the complete product portfolio.

• Create the product operating model, establish metrics, planning cadence, and prioritization framework.

• Manage the integration of acquisitions and new product initiatives.

• Act as a senior advocate for customer needs pertaining to talent and clients.

• Define the structure of product teams, resource allocation, workforce planning, hiring standards, and headcount requirements.

• Review product work directly, develop team members, and elevate organizational standards.

• Build strong relationships with executives and direct reports; gain knowledge of platform architecture, marketplace dynamics, internal tooling, and AI initiatives.

• Evaluate the maturity of the Product organization, team members, roadmap, rituals, and identify any gaps.

• Deliver an AI-enabled capability in production within the initial three months.

• Showcase AI business impact across at least two core areas within six months.

• Construct an advanced AI-native product organization and an exceptional product team within the first year.

• Deliver prioritized roadmap items with a clear connection between product investments and business outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is necessary, ideally in a technical field (Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems).

• A minimum of 15 years of established experience in software Product Management.

• At least 8 years of experience in leading Product organizations, including managing other product leaders.

• Demonstrated ability to enhance the capability of a product organization through effective hiring and development.

• Proven experience managing an entire product portfolio at a high-growth technology company, with responsibility for business results.

• Success in setting executive-level product strategies and translating them into actionable roadmaps across multiple teams and domains.

• Experience in leading AI-enabled products with measurable business results.

• Extensive hands-on knowledge of agentic architectures, harness and orchestration design, retrieval, context engineering, fine-tuning, evaluation, and production model economics; personally delivered these solutions.

• Ability to educate others on AI and facilitate organizational adoption without prompting.

• Proficiency in growth marketing principles, including acquisition, activation, conversion, and retention.

• Comfortable conducting data analysis using SQL or spreadsheets and performing internal and external user research.

• Capacity to devise solutions through data and a user-centered approach.

• High standards for user stories, technical methods, and feature testing.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with agile development practices and experience working with globally distributed teams.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment while managing diverse challenges, deadlines, and relationships.

• A world-class individual contributor mindset.

• A Master’s degree is highly preferred.

• Experience with marketplace, platform, or two-sided business models is a significant advantage.

• Prior experience as a Software Engineer is a strong plus.
