This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Take ownership of the sustaining engineering function for released products throughout their entire lifecycle.
• Lead and nurture a growing team of sustaining engineers to support Hyper's expanding product lineup.
• Oversee engineering change requests (ECRs), engineering change orders (ECOs), deviations, and modifications to products.
• Propel continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Establish and uphold sustaining engineering processes, metrics, and best practices.
• Collaborate with New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to facilitate seamless transitions of products into production.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to address production challenges and prevent reoccurrences.
• Assist in root cause investigations related to manufacturing nonconformances, field failures, and customer issues.
• Identify and implement corrective and preventive actions that enhance product performance and manufacturing efficiency.
• Maintain comprehensive product documentation including bills of material (BOMs), drawings, schematics, assembly instructions, and test procedures.
• Support component substitutions, obsolescence management, and supplier-driven design modifications.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for customer-reported problems and field failures.
• Drive the resolution of product quality issues while ensuring customer confidence and satisfaction.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant UL standards, customer specifications, and internal quality criteria.
• Assist with audits, product certifications, and regulatory compliance activities as required.
• Advocate for a culture of continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Over 7 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
• A minimum of 2 years of leadership or management experience with direct reports.
• Experience in supporting released products through sustaining engineering, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, or similar roles.
• Strong grasp of engineering change management processes, including ECOs, ECRs, and document control.
• Proven experience in conducting root cause analysis and executing corrective actions.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
