This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide leadership to a team of data engineers, business intelligence analysts, and data governance experts tasked with delivering enterprise data services across the University of Maine System.
• Shape the future of our enterprise data platform by enhancing reliability, scalability, and governance while fostering data-informed decision-making throughout the organization.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing technical team.
• Direct the design, delivery, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise data engineering and analytics services.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative leaders to grasp business requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
• Oversee enterprise data pipelines, integration services, analytics platforms, and governance strategies.
• Work alongside Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and other IT leaders to promote enterprise technology initiatives.
• Advocate for modern engineering practices, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related area, along with seven years of progressively responsible professional experience in supporting or managing enterprise data engineering, analytics platforms, or enterprise data services;
• OR
• A Master's degree in a related field with five years of progressively responsible professional experience in supporting or managing enterprise data engineering, analytics platforms, or enterprise data services.
• Proven experience in supervising technical staff or holding a formal technical leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in managing enterprise data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Familiarity with overseeing cloud-based platforms and assessing performance, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Competitive salary: $85,000–$95,000 based on education and experience.
