This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Cultivates a portfolio of plastic brokerage business, primarily concentrating on MRF rigid containers and post-commercial films.
• Leverages transactions and customer engagements to create a database of available third-party volume, highlighting specific quality, operational, and logistical limitations, along with relative pricing expectations.
• Acquires full truckloads of baled plastic containers from MRFs located in the Western US for processing at the Las Vegas Polymer Center.
• Enhances purchases to optimize profit by maximizing product yield and minimizing landed costs.
• Establishes value for suppliers through consultative sales, focusing on cost-reducing process modifications and distinctive product blends.
• Aids plastic recycling initiatives at national accounts.
• Formulates material handling and logistics strategies to cater to diverse customer requirements, such as LTL volumes, odd lots, post-industrial parts, and combination loads.
• Builds a network of third-party vendors to deliver recycling services to national accounts.
• Engages in customer RFPs and QBRs as necessary to support business development and enhance credibility.
• Over 10 years of experience in sales, market development, or account management.
• More than 5 years of experience in procuring post-consumer plastic with a focus on P&L.
• Extensive knowledge of product specifications and quality requirements of end users.
• Comprehensive understanding of OTR logistics and the associated costs.
• Proven business acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to implement developed strategies effectively.
• Strong customer focus; capable of understanding the challenges, needs, and opportunities of counterparts.
