Manager, Application Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Leading, mentoring, and cultivating a highly motivated team of software developers and team leaders.

• Overseeing a variety of software development projects throughout the complete Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from initial planning to production release.

• Collaborating with business stakeholders, IT leadership, and cross-functional teams to provide scalable business solutions.

• Promoting Agile and Scrum best practices, development processes, release planning, and initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Offering leadership and guidance for enterprise application architecture, design choices, and technical direction.

• Assessing technical trade-offs to ensure solutions are aligned with business goals, scalability needs, and long-term technology strategies.

• Assisting in application modernization efforts and cloud-based solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure.

• Managing development workflows, planning activities, and delivery metrics through Jira and the Atlassian platform.

• Discovering opportunities to enhance team effectiveness, documentation, governance, and operational processes.

• Contributing to strategic initiatives such as AI adoption, international expansion projects, and enterprise technology transformation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in software development.

• 4+ years of experience in people leadership, specifically managing software development teams.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple software projects and releases concurrently.

• Extensive experience in leading Agile/Scrum development teams and guiding software delivery through the SDLC.

• Hands-on experience in software development, including familiarity with APIs, database technologies, software architecture, and application design.

• Experience using the Microsoft Azure platform.

• Technical expertise in .NET and SQL-based applications.

• Proficient in utilizing Jira and the Atlassian suite for managing development workflows, planning, and delivery.

• Strong grasp of software architecture principles, design patterns, and technical decision-making methodologies.

• Proven experience in collaborating with business stakeholders and converting business requirements into technical solutions.

• Outstanding leadership, communication, coaching, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Experience in supporting enterprise business systems such as ERP, CRM, warehouse management, order management, logistics, or supply chain platforms.
