Survey Technician – Crew Chief

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Gather data to ensure successful project completion

• Identify boundaries, markers, improvements, utilities, and various features for ALTA, boundary, construction staking, and topographic surveys

• Verify and process raw field data, execute calculations, and manage survey data downloads and filing

• Conduct project research as necessary

• Adhere to instructions and work orders from project managers

• Maintain daily communication with the Field Project Manager regarding field schedule progress

• Build and nurture relationships with clients, contractors, and team members

• Ensure projects are executed safely and efficiently in accordance with established schedules and budgets

• Maintain surveying equipment and resolve field-related issues

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief

• Strong comprehension of surveying principles and practices

• Skilled in using surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors

• Part 107 license is desirable but not mandatory

• Familiarity with CAD software, particularly Carlson AutoCAD, is advantageous but not essential

• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities

• Capability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team while delivering high-quality work punctually and within budget

• Ability to safely traverse and navigate challenging terrain in remote locations

• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wet, muddy environments, and at elevated or precarious locations

• Capacity to transport heavy equipment, regularly lifting/moving up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds

• Willingness to travel regionally and nationally on a frequent basis

• Availability to work overtime, including weekends as required
