Survey Technician – Crew Chief

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Gather field data to ensure successful project completion

• Identify boundaries, markers, enhancements, utilities, and other features for ALTA, boundary, construction staking, and topographic surveys

• Verify and process raw field data, execute calculations, and organize survey data

• Conduct project research as required

• Adhere to instructions and work orders from project managers

• Maintain daily communication with the Field Project Manager regarding the progress of the field schedule

• Build and sustain relationships with clients, contractors, and team members

• Ensure projects are completed safely and effectively within established timelines and budgets

• Maintain survey equipment and address field-related issues

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief

• Strong grasp of surveying concepts and methodologies

• Skilled in using survey equipment such as total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors

• Part 107 license is preferred but not mandatory

• Familiarity with CAD software, particularly Carlson AutoCAD, is advantageous but not essential

• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities

• Capability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team, delivering high-quality work punctually and within budget

• Ability to safely navigate rugged terrain in remote locations

• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wet, and muddy environments, as well as at high or precarious locations

• Capacity to frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, regularly up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds

• Willingness to travel regionally and nationally as needed

• Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends when necessary
