Surveillance Radar Technical Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver expertise in radar system integration, operations, and lifecycle support.

• Assist FAA surveillance initiatives through performance analysis, troubleshooting, and modernization strategies.

• Observe, document, and report technical data associated with FAA radar system installations and upgrades.

• Work collaboratively with FAA stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams to meet mission goals.

• Create and submit clear technical and status reports during site surveys, pre-installation, installation, testing, and acceptance phases.

• Inform Peraton leadership of significant risks, issues, and opportunities, along with their possible impacts on the schedule.

• Supervise site and vendor technicians.

• Monitor past and upcoming equipment installation timelines and ensure adherence to FAA regulations.

• Oversee updated systems following installation and acceptance testing.

• Coordinate with site technicians and vendors to enhance ATC systems through calibrations, alignments, and additional testing.

• Enhance radar detection capabilities and data accuracy via system upgrades.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• 8 years of experience with a BS/BA; 6 years with an MS/MA; or 12 years without a degree.

• Substantial hands-on technical experience maintaining moderately complex systems such as radars, radios, or networks.

• Strong self-starter qualities.

• Proficient in conflict resolution and deconfliction procedures.

• Ability to work independently in agile environments with minimal oversight or managerial control.

• Critical thinking skills and adherence to processes and procedures.

• Willingness and capability to travel 75%, with a typical schedule of 1 month on and 2 weeks remote rotation.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Competence in evaluating large volumes of relevant data and generating detailed technical reports under time constraints.

• Clear and effective communication with all stakeholders.

• Familiarity with radar operations, ATC systems and operations, and/or Integrated Air and Missile Defense systems is preferred.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft products and business applications is preferred.
