Support Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assist in pre-trial litigation from the initial assignment of files through to trial and subsequent post-trial processes.

• Draft essential legal documentation.

• Gather and prepare relevant defense materials.

• Provide legal guidance to clients and claims personnel.

• Represent insured parties and the Company in courts, arbitration panels, or administrative bodies in defending personal injury claims.

• Oversee and manage junior legal staff, including paralegals, secretaries, transcriptionists, and support specialists.

• Ensure the accurate and timely execution of assigned tasks.

• Offer trial support, manage depositions and trial-related documents, prepare legal motions, attend law and motion hearings and other court proceedings, conduct research, and review medical records.

• Cultivate expertise in pre-trial litigation, encompassing case assessments through to trial and post-trial activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree is mandatory.

• Must be admitted to the bar in the state(s) where practicing.

• Strong communication, persuasion, writing, and analytical abilities.

• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Significant travel by automobile, up to 20% of work time.

• Must adhere to company standards concerning personal driving history and current license status.

• Preferred: Over one year of experience as a licensed attorney with a focus on insurance defense or equivalent relevant experience.

• Experience as a 1st and 2nd chair in trials is an advantage.

• Preferred: Outstanding communication and analytical skills.
