This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Procurement operations:
• - Initiate production by orchestrating glass orders and confirming the availability of necessary hardware and materials.
• - Plan inventory levels and anticipate procurement requirements.
• - Analyze technical drawings and specifications to compile precise material lists.
• - Validate dimensions, finishes, and quality standards prior to placing orders.
• - Monitor engineering documentation and procurement modifications throughout the project lifecycle.
• - Ensure that procurement documentation and component orders are finalized before production and container arrivals.
• Supplier management:
• - Identify, assess, and cultivate relationships with suppliers in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
• - Negotiate pricing, payment conditions, and delivery timelines.
• - Oversee purchasing actions for production, warehouse, and installation operations.
• - Evaluate supplier performance and address quality, logistics, and delivery challenges.
• - Discover opportunities for enhancing procurement efficiency, supplier performance, and cost reduction.
• Cross-functional collaboration:
• - Collaborate closely with Sales, Project Managers, Engineers, Estimators, Warehouse, and Installation teams.
• - Assist with engineering changes, material substitutions, and procurement planning.
• - Offer procurement expertise, material suggestions, and pricing details for projects.
• - Ensure that acquired materials comply with project specifications and technical documentation.
• Team leadership:
• - Direct, mentor, and nurture a team of four Supply Engineers.
• - Allocate tasks, prioritize workloads, and oversee project timelines.
• - Conduct regular one-on-one meetings while providing coaching and performance evaluations.
• - Review procurement documentation, material lists, and purchase orders created by the team.
• - Assist engineers with intricate sourcing challenges and supplier escalations.
• - Coordinate procurement activities with internal stakeholders across various departments.
• - Propel continuous improvement initiatives and enhance procurement workflows.
• - Report on progress, risks, and operational updates to the Chief Technical Officer.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience as a Procurement Engineer, Supply Engineer, or in a comparable engineering procurement role within the U.S. market.
• Prior experience in people management or team leadership.
• Experience collaborating with suppliers in international markets, including the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
• Familiarity with procurement, sourcing, and the import/export of engineering or production materials.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and PDF tools.
• Experience utilizing task management systems such as ClickUp or analogous platforms.
• Fluent English is a requirement.
• Fluent Russian is advantageous.
