Supplier Project Engineer, Supply Chain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Serve as the project management lead for overseeing supplier performance and management.

• Utilize project management tools to monitor supplier costs, schedules, submittals, and resources.

• Work in partnership with internal technical and commercial teams to ensure adherence to contracts and technical directives.

• Create statements of work and project plans to facilitate the execution of supplier projects.

• Lead supplier selection processes for RFPs and the evaluation and awarding of bids.

• Direct and oversee supplier projects to ensure the fulfillment of contractual deliverables.

• Manage technical communications between supplier projects and TerraPower’s technical team.

• Assist with contract administration and commercial activities as necessary.

• Oversee the submittal process and coordinate the review of supplier deliverables.

• Keep informed about suppliers' technical capabilities, organizational changes, and relationships.

• Provide oversight during both scheduled and spontaneous visits to supplier locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A technical degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, nuclear, systems, or civil engineering is required.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in supplier oversight is necessary.

• PMP certification is preferred or equivalent training is acceptable.

• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing oversight is preferred.

• Knowledge of manufacturing travelers, welding, and related manufacturing processes is important.

• Experience in defining supplier work scopes, including the development of SOWs, RFPs, and oversight of supplier projects is required.

• Proven supplier management skills in design and manufacturing settings are essential.

• Demonstrated ability to support the contractual/commercial aspects of customer/supplier relationships is required.

• Previous experience interfacing technically with engineering teams for reviews and input on supplier activities is necessary.

• Familiarity with project controls, organization, tools, and processes is mandatory.

• A broad understanding of mechanical, electrical, and nuclear engineering disciplines and their interconnections is essential.

• Strong communication skills are highly desired.

• Must be able to safely lift up to 25 pounds.

• Capability to perform tasks involving extended sitting, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control, prolonged repetitive work, visual and auditory focus, navigating stairs, typing/keyboard usage, and working over 8 hours per day is required.

• Willingness to travel 25%–50% or more is necessary.
