Supplier Metallurgical Control Specialist – Northeast Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and authorize suppliers’ systems related to chemical and metallurgical process control.

• Perform product and process assessments/surveillance at various suppliers.

• Review and endorse suppliers’ metallurgical and chemical methodologies.

• Actively engage in any chemical metallurgical issues or investigations at suppliers that may affect P&W.

• Provide training on P&W quality material control system requirements at different suppliers.

• Involve in the approval process of engineering controlled methodologies for critical applications.

• Collaborate with other P&W business units to enhance overall supplier quality.

• Aid suppliers in preparing non-conformance documentation and serve as a resource/coach for related root cause corrective action investigations.

• Communicate with all levels of employees at suppliers.

• Actively take part in ongoing improvement initiatives.

• Contribute to various team audits and manufacturing process evaluations.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR an advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience.

• A degree in Material Science/Engineering is preferred.

• Experience in the testing and control of raw materials, finished products, and processes ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable government regulations.

• Knowledge of Chemical/Metallurgical Processes, such as laser machining, electro-discharge machining, electro-chemical grinding, brazing, coatings, welding, heat treatment, etc.

• Understanding of Product Integrity.

• Proficiency in Quality Control.

• Oversight of suppliers’ quality systems.

• Audit experience of suppliers’ processes and products.
