This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
β’ Offer guidance and coaching to coding staff, ensuring that employees receive constructive feedback on areas needing improvement.
β’ Work in conjunction with Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) on Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) Coding.
β’ Engage in recruitment activities, including interviewing, onboarding, and training new hires.
β’ Organize staffing schedules to guarantee that quality and production standards are consistently achieved.
β’ Completion of a Medical Coding Program is required.
β’ An Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field is required.
β’ Two (2) years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree, along with the necessary experience listed below.
β’ Graduation from a Health Information Technology program is preferred.
β’ A minimum of 2 years of medical coding experience with at least one (1) year in a leadership role (for non-HCC roles) or 2 years of HCC Risk Adjustment experience with at least one (1) year in a leadership capacity (for HCC-specific roles) is required.
β’ 2 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
β’ Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is required upon hire or
β’ Certification as a Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) is required upon hire or
β’ Certification as a Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) is required upon hire or
β’ Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) is required upon hire or
β’ Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist Physician Based (CCS-P) is required upon hire or
β’ Certification as a Certified Coding Associate (CCA) is required upon hire or
β’ For HCC-specific supervisory roles: Certification as a Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) is required upon hire or
β’ Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is required upon hire or
β’ Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) is required upon hire.
β’ Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is preferred or
β’ Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) is preferred.
