Superintendent

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Manage a team of subcontractors and Eleven Western Builders staff from the initiation to the completion of projects.

• Ensure that projects are finished on time, within budget, adhere to codes, and include comprehensive documentation.

• Complete the onboarding process, which includes basic safety training, equipment training certification, CPR, and OSHA training if not previously completed.

• Provide insights regarding job specifications.

• Utilize ProCore to track progress and send daily updates to the Project Team.

• Review job plans a minimum of twice daily and assess project progress during site inspections.

• Direct work and collaborate with subcontractors to plan activities.

• Conduct daily meetings with retail clients, the EWB construction team, and inspectors.

• Oversee all site construction activities and supervise approximately 140 field personnel daily.

• Manage projects valued at approximately $5 million or more, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.

• Ensure that final products meet quality standards and comply with inspection regulations.

• Hold subcontractors accountable for general safety practices.

• Create, submit, and monitor RFIs and responses to determine the scope of change orders.

• Exhibit integrity, compassion, and empathy in client interactions while embodying EWB culture.

• Step into ongoing projects and assume Superintendent responsibilities across retail, hospitality, fast food, fuel station, and open-store-remodel specialties.

• Deliver clean and thorough projects on time, with fewer than two loose ends at completion.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Superintendent role is required.

• At least 3 years of experience in building/remodeling within retail, hospitality, fuel stations, open store remodels, or fast food, with relevant experience in the last 5 years.

• Proficient in mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, calculating square footage, and material take-offs.

• Ability to interpret construction documents and possess knowledge of construction methods.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Project, Word).

• Intermediate experience with ProCore is an advantage.

• Must have a valid CA Driver’s License, a good driving record, and reliable transportation.

• Must pass a background check.

• Current OSHA 10 and CPR certification is a plus.

• Proven track record of maintaining safety and adhering to safety standards.

• Must be willing and able to travel extensively throughout California and to other assigned project locations as required by business needs.

• Regular overnight travel, extended stays near project sites, working across multiple geographic regions, and flexibility to remain on-site during critical project phases are required.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.

• Capable of performing general physical tasks such as lifting items up to 50 pounds, kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, repetitive motion, and using hand tools.
