Superintendent

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of subcontractors and Eleven Western Builders staff throughout the entirety of projects.

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, compliant with codes, and accompanied by comprehensive documentation.

• Facilitate onboarding processes, basic safety training, equipment training certification, CPR, and OSHA training as required.

• Provide insights regarding job specifications.

• Utilize ProCore for tracking progress and sending daily updates to the Project Team.

• Review job plans at least twice daily and assess job progress during site visits.

• Direct work and collaborate with subcontractors to arrange schedules.

• Hold daily meetings with retail clients, the EWB construction team, and inspectors.

• Coordinate all construction activities on-site and supervise field personnel, managing up to approximately 140 individuals daily.

• Manage projects valued at approximately $5 million or more, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.

• Guarantee that finished products adhere to quality standards and regulatory inspection requirements.

• Hold subcontractors accountable for general safety protocols.

• Create, submit, and monitor RFIs and their responses to determine the scope of change orders.

• Step into ongoing projects and assume Superintendent responsibilities with new teams and specialized areas.

• Maintain schedules and complete projects neatly with no more than two loose ends upon completion.

• Inspire teams, address issues, delegate responsibilities, and foster relationships with clients and subcontractors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Superintendent role is required.

• At least 3 years of experience in building/remodeling within retail, hospitality, fuel stations, open store remodels, or fast food, with relevant experience in the last 5 years.

• Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, square footage calculations, and material take-offs.

• Ability to interpret construction documents and familiarity with construction methodologies.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Project, Word).

• Intermediate knowledge of ProCore is advantageous.

• Must possess a valid CA Driver’s License, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.

• Must pass a background check.

• Current OSHA 10 and CPR certifications are a plus.

• Proven track record of prioritizing safety and complying with safety standards.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively across California and other designated project locations as business needs dictate.

• Must be prepared for frequent overnight travel, extended stays near project sites, and remain on-site during critical project phases.

• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as necessary.

• Capable of performing general physical tasks such as lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds, kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, repetitive motions, and using hand tools.
