Superintendent

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of subcontractors and Eleven Western Builders staff from project initiation to completion.

• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, in compliance with codes, and with comprehensive documentation.

• Facilitate onboarding, basic safety training, equipment training certification, CPR, and OSHA training as required.

• Provide valuable insights regarding job specifications.

• Utilize ProCore for documenting progress and dispatching daily reports to the Project Team.

• Review job plans at least twice daily and inspect job progress during site visits.

• Direct work and coordinate with subcontractors to arrange activities.

• Conduct daily meetings with retail clients, the EWB construction team, and inspectors.

• Coordinate all construction activities on-site and supervise approximately 140 field personnel daily.

• Manage projects with budgets of around $5 million or more.

• Ensure that finished products adhere to quality standards and regulatory inspection requirements.

• Hold subcontractors accountable for maintaining general safety protocols.

• Create, submit, and track RFIs and RFI responses to clarify change-order scope.

• Maintain schedules and ensure projects are completed cleanly and efficiently with fewer than two loose ends.

• Step into ongoing projects to assume Superintendent responsibilities across various specialties and locations.

• Travel frequently, including overnight stays and extended periods near project sites, remaining on-site during critical phases of projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Superintendent role required.

• At least 3 years of experience in building/remodeling within retail, hospitality, fuel stations, open store remodels, or fast food, with experience in the last 5 years required.

• Strong math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, calculation of square footage, and material take-offs.

• Ability to read construction documents and a solid understanding of construction methods.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Project, Word).

• Intermediate proficiency with ProCore is advantageous.

• Must possess a valid CA Driver’s License, a good driving record, and reliable transportation.

• Background check clearance is required.

• Current OSHA 10 and CPR certification is a plus.

• Proven track record of working safely and complying with safety standards.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout California and other designated project sites as business needs dictate.

• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime when necessary.

• Capable of performing general physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, repetitive motions, and using hand tools.
