Superintendent

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of subcontractors and personnel from Eleven Western Builders throughout the entire construction project lifecycle.

• Complete the onboarding process, which includes fundamental safety training, equipment certification, CPR, and OSHA training as required.

• Offer insights regarding job specifications.

• Utilize ProCore to document advancements and provide daily reports to the Project Team.

• Review job plans at least twice daily and assess job progress during site inspections.

• Direct work and collaborate with subcontractors to schedule tasks effectively.

• Hold daily meetings with retail clients, the EWB construction team, and inspectors.

• Coordinate all construction activities on-site and supervise approximately 140 field personnel daily.

• Manage projects valued at around $5 million or more, ensuring they remain on schedule and within budget.

• Guarantee that completed products adhere to quality standards and comply with inspection regulations.

• Hold subcontractors responsible for general safety protocols.

• Create, submit, and monitor RFIs and responses to determine the scope of change orders.

• Step into ongoing projects and take on Superintendent responsibilities across various specialties, including retail, hospitality, fast food, fuel stations, and open store remodels.

• Maintain schedules and ensure that projects are completed cleanly and tightly, with fewer than two loose ends.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Superintendent role is required.

• At least 3 years of experience in building/remodeling within retail, hospitality, fuel stations, open store remodels, or fast food, with experience within the last 5 years required.

• Strong math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, square footage calculations, and material take-offs.

• Ability to read construction documents and possess knowledge of construction methods.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Project, Word).

• Intermediate proficiency with ProCore is advantageous.

• Must have a valid CA Driver’s License, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.

• Successful completion of a background check is necessary.

• Current OSHA 10 and CPR certification is preferred.

• Proven history of working safely and following safety standards.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout California and to other assigned project locations as needed by the business.

• Frequent overnight travel, extended stays near project sites, work across multiple geographic regions, and flexibility to be on-site for critical project phases are required.

• Capability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as necessary.

• Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, repetitive motions, and using hand tools.
