Superintendent

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of subcontractors and Eleven Western Builders staff from the initiation to the completion of projects.

• Guarantee that projects are delivered on time, within financial constraints, compliant with regulations, and supported by comprehensive documentation.

• Complete necessary onboarding, safety training, equipment certification, CPR, and OSHA training as required.

• Provide detailed insights regarding job specifications.

• Utilize ProCore for tracking progress and submitting daily reports to the Project Team.

• Review job plans at least twice daily and monitor job progress during site walkthroughs.

• Direct work and coordinate subcontractors to effectively schedule project activities.

• Conduct daily meetings with retail clients, the EWB construction team, and inspectors.

• Organize site construction activities and supervise field personnel, managing approximately 140 individuals per day.

• Manage projects valued at approximately $5 million or more, ensuring they stay on track and within budget.

• Confirm that final products adhere to quality standards and meet regulatory inspection criteria.

• Hold subcontractors accountable for compliance with general safety procedures.

• Create, submit, and monitor RFIs and their responses to clarify change-order scopes.

• Step into ongoing projects and assume Superintendent responsibilities across various specialties and locations.

• Maintain schedules and ensure projects are completed cleanly and efficiently, with fewer than two unresolved issues upon completion.

• Inspire teams, address challenges, uphold client relationships, and foster a strong work ethic and safety culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Superintendent role is required.

• At least 3 years of experience in building/remodeling within retail, hospitality, fuel stations, open store remodels, or fast food; experience within the last 5 years is necessary.

• Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, calculating square footage, and material take-offs.

• Proficient in reading construction documents and knowledgeable about construction methodologies.

• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Project, Word).

• Intermediate proficiency with ProCore is advantageous.

• Must possess a valid CA Driver’s License, maintain a good driving record, and have reliable transportation.

• Successful completion of a background check is required.

• Current OSHA 10 and CPR certifications are a plus.

• Proven history of maintaining safety and adhering to safety standards.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout California and to other designated project locations as business needs dictate.

• Capacity for frequent overnight travel and extended stays near project sites.

• Ability to work across various geographic regions and remain on-site during critical project phases.

• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.

• Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, repetitive motions, and using hand tools.
