
Substation Project Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Create project plans, timelines, and preliminary budget estimates
• Establish scope, milestones, and deliverables that align with client needs and company goals
• Oversee cross-functional teams from P&C, Station, and Quality Assurance, including engineers, designers, and drafters
• Delegate tasks and promote effective communication and collaboration
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and providing updates on progress
• Recognize technical, financial, and scheduling risks and implement strategies to mitigate them
• Inform customers of scope changes and delays in milestones
• Work with engineering teams to ensure that substation designs comply with technical, client, and project standards
• Manage a diverse portfolio of projects of varying sizes and complexities
• Establish and apply project management best practices and supporting tools
• Ensure safety while working in and around energized substations
• Travel to project sites or client meetings as necessary, approximately 10% of the time
• Provide status updates, coordinate across functions, make proactive decisions, and meet customer delivery, revenue, and on-time implementation objectives
• Contribute to the continuous enhancement of project management processes, methodologies, and tools
• Engage in sales support, customer support, training, and engineering operations initiatives
• Offer project management guidance and training as required
• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business
• Over 5 years of relevant experience managing engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong organizational, analytical, and project management abilities
• Technical proficiency
• Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Proficient in project planning and management
• Flexible, results-driven, and adept at managing change
• Proven ability to build teams
• Competent in conflict management and achieving swift resolutions
• Active PMP certification is preferred
• Experience in the utility and energy sector, particularly with transmission and distribution systems, is preferred
