This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.
• Provide guidance on the course scope and specific learning outcomes.
• Choose and/or create content that aids students in mastering essential GIS concepts and applications.
• Convert geospatial analysis techniques into user-friendly instructional materials for students.
• Design practical assignments that include mapping, spatial analysis, and investigative case studies.
• Work collaboratively with academic leaders and learning designers throughout an iterative development process.
• Ensure that the content aligns with the latest GIS technologies and best practices.
• Include authentic examples related to environmental and enforcement issues that illustrate practical GIS applications.
• Possess an advanced degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Geospatial Science, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in utilizing GIS software and spatial analysis tools.
• Strong knowledge of geospatial data collection, management, visualization, and analysis techniques.
• Capability to convey technical GIS concepts in a clear and accessible manner for undergraduate students.
• Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to develop clear, student-oriented instructions.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a collaborative remote setting.
• Proficient in standard computer applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiar with contemporary productivity tools.
• This is a 1099 position and does not come with benefits.
