GIS Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee the GIS ticket queue to assist internal users.

• Investigate and rectify potential data discrepancies utilizing plant drawings, maps, aerial and street photographs, along with other data resources.

• Incorporate newly generated addresses into the systems.

• Audit partner address releases in relation to provided services and invoices.

• Develop and implement reports, tracking sheets, and automation tools to reconcile partner data.

• Review and integrate address delivery batches into the database.

• Monitor releases for prorated invoicing.

• Validate partner deliveries against mapping data.

• Integrate as-built records from partner and organic construction activities.

• Transform CAD formats into structured data for IQGeo and other systems.

• Keep IQGeo and other record systems updated to reflect network and plant modifications.

• Collaborate with the design team to update IQGeo for physical network alterations.

• Generate FCC reporting outputs biannually.

• Download and integrate aggregated FCC data twice a year for business intelligence.

• Utilize database queries and geospatial tools to create reports for internal stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed post-secondary education in Applied Geography, Geographic Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

• 3+ years of experience in GIS/AutoCAD/Network documentation systems.

• 2+ years of proven experience with spatial data, data entry, and conversion.

• 2+ years of demonstrated exceptional project management abilities.

• Familiarity with IQGeo.

• Experience with SQL queries, particularly PostGIS.

• Knowledge of other GIS tools such as ArcGIS Pro is a plus.

• Preferred industry and GIS/CAD-specific certifications and training.

• Programming experience with Go, Python, and PostGIS is an advantage.

• Capability to work independently in a predominantly asynchronous environment.

• Strong attention to detail.
