This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Design safe and cost-effective structures that meet project specifications while complying with industry standards and codes.
• Employ proprietary software for analyzing frames, secondary structures, bracing, cranes, mezzanines, and panels to guarantee structural integrity and functionality.
• Collaborate closely with the Detailing Department and other team members to effectively communicate design specifications.
• Assess and verify the accuracy of structural drawings.
• Seize opportunities for growth and development as an engineer by working alongside various teams across the division.
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited institution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Comprehensive understanding of structural building codes, including IBC, AISC 360, AISC 341, AISC 358, ASCE7, and AISI.
• Registered Structural Engineer (S.E.) in the United States, with the capability to obtain licensure in Illinois.
• Must reside within the continental United States, with availability of at least 8 consecutive hours from 9 am to 3 pm CST.
• Willingness to travel to the home division or job sites as necessary (less than 10% travel).
• Candidates must have legal authorization to work in the US (Nucor will not provide visa sponsorship now or in the future).
