This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Assist in structural engineering and multi-disciplinary design projects throughout the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering initiatives.
• Develop calculations, drawings, and specifications pertaining to seismic and wind analyses, foundation design, structural framing analyses and design, as well as bracing analyses and design.
• Conduct structural analysis using hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software to assess structures.
• Carry out shell analysis tasks, including glovebox shell analysis or similar evaluations of structural shells.
• Aid in the creation and review of engineering deliverables to ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Perform construction document assessments, field verifications, and facility walkdowns as necessary.
• Collaborate on design efforts with other engineering disciplines, project teams, and customer stakeholders.
• Provide engineering assistance during construction activities, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting technical evaluations as required.
• Efficiently organize and execute assigned tasks within project timelines and deadlines.
• Execute all work under quality assurance protocols in accordance with company policies and relevant regulatory standards.
• Keep accurate technical documentation and relay project status updates to project leadership.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and professionalism in all work endeavors.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least three (3) years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Proficient in structural analysis and design with a solid grasp of applicable engineering codes and standards.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Familiarity with structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro or GTSTRUDL.
• Preference for candidates with experience in shell analysis, including glovebox shell analysis or similar structural shell evaluations.
• Strong technical communication and organizational capabilities.
• Capacity to work independently in a part-time support role.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• Preferred ability to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance.
• Experience in the DOE/NNSA or commercial nuclear sectors is desirable.
• PE License, with the potential to obtain licensure in Tennessee, is preferred.
