This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.
• The Construction Engineer I plays a vital role in supporting four essential Construction Engineering functions within SOLV’s EPC operations by facilitating engineering coordination, technical communication, and maintaining rigorous documentation.
• This position aids in Warranty Analysis by collecting data and assisting in the engineering review of possible design or installation challenges.
• Involved in the implementation of Emerging Technologies by providing support for GPS-enabled pile driving, drone survey workflows, and the integration of new construction tools.
• Offers Construction Engineering Support During Operations by managing RFIs, design revisions, and field engineering clarifications.
• Provides assistance with Pile Load Testing Support During Initial Design by participating in planning, scheduling, documentation, and engineering communication for pre-construction pile testing initiatives.
• This position is remote and will involve travel.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Studies, or a closely related technical discipline is preferred.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience, demonstrating the ability to perform tasks under guidance while progressing towards independent execution in alignment with Engineer I expectations.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred or the willingness to pursue such certification.
• Strong capability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including civil, structural, electrical, and geotechnical plans.
• A foundational understanding of construction processes, testing methodologies (such as pile load testing), and engineering documentation practices.
• High attention to detail coupled with exceptional organizational skills, ensuring accurate and disciplined documentation across various engineering workflows.
• A problem-solving mindset, capable of identifying discrepancies, gathering supporting information, and appropriately escalating engineering issues.
• Excellent communication skills, able to articulate design updates, collect field information, and collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and field teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; familiarity with CAD, GIS, drone-capture platforms, GPS machine-control datasets, or similar tools is preferred.
• A willingness to learn and support emerging construction technologies, including drone-based surveys, GPS-enabled equipment, and digital field data systems.
• Capability to perform field work, which includes walking construction sites, collecting data, observing installation methods, and engaging in testing activities.
• A sense of urgency and ownership, able to thrive in fast-paced construction environments and respond promptly to engineering information requirements.
• Team-oriented, with the ability to collaboratively work across engineering, operations, warranty, and technology-focused groups.
