Structural Designer 3 – Nuclear Power

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create structural physical layout drawings utilizing a 3-D model.

• Design structural supports and foundations.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve structural design challenges.

• Employ 3D modeling software tools to produce structural design schematics.

• Oversee detailed design phases for all components of an integrated structural design model.

• Assist designers and project team members to ensure timely and comprehensive design completion.

• Independently plan and execute structural design deliverables as well as collaborate within a design team.

• Possibly accompany senior designers and engineers during field walkdowns and data collection at client sites.

• Offer guidance on drafting tools.

• Mentor junior drafters and designers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma with 1 or more years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.

• At least four years of detailed design experience in developing structural steel and reinforced concrete design drawings.

• Proficient in design software tools for creating 3D plant layout models.

• Familiarity with Open Building Designer.

• Experience in reviewing structural layout drawings related to steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, foundations, and rebar detailing.

• Capability to collaborate with engineering and design teams from other disciplines throughout the power plant design process.

• Work authorization in the U.S.; the employer does not sponsor work authorization for employees.

• Experience with MicroStation is preferred but not mandatory.
