This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the development, execution, and upkeep of strategic plans and associated planning products for the organization.
• Perform research and analysis to pinpoint trends, emerging issues, organizational challenges, and opportunities aligned with strategic priorities.
• Evaluate organizational goals, objectives, programs, and activities to determine their alignment with strategic priorities.
• Aid in the formulation of strategic goals, objectives, initiatives, milestones, and performance measures.
• Convert strategic priorities into actionable implementation plans, roadmaps, and work plans.
• Track progress against strategic objectives, milestones, and performance targets.
• Create and manage strategic planning trackers, performance dashboards, and other management tools.
• Gather, analyze, and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to facilitate strategic decision-making.
• Perform environmental scans, literature reviews, benchmarking studies, and other research efforts.
• Evaluate organizational capabilities, resources, risks, and constraints that impact strategic objectives.
• Identify discrepancies between current and desired organizational performance and formulate recommendations.
• Lead strategic planning sessions, leadership meetings, working groups, interviews, and stakeholder engagements.
• Prepare executive-level briefings, presentations, reports, decision memoranda, talking points, and strategic communication materials.
• Support performance measurement frameworks and organizational metrics.
• Analyze performance data and suggest enhancements to organizational effectiveness and the achievement of strategic goals.
• Collaborate with CDC leadership, program managers, subject matter experts, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate governance of strategic initiatives by monitoring decisions, action items, risks, and dependencies.
• Assess potential effects of organizational, policy, operational, or environmental changes on strategic priorities.
• Aid in the execution of strategic initiatives and track intended outcomes.
• Ensure that planning products are clear, consistent, data-informed, and aligned with organizational objectives.
• Undertake other responsibilities supporting CDC's strategic planning and management goals.
• A Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, public health, management, strategic planning, organizational development, social sciences, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of pertinent professional experience in strategic planning, management analysis, program planning, organizational effectiveness, business analysis, or related functions.
• Proven experience in the development and execution of strategic plans, organizational plans, or strategic initiatives.
• Experience in conducting research, environmental analysis, and synthesizing complex information.
• Proven ability to develop goals, objectives, performance measures, milestones, and implementation plans.
• Experience in analyzing organizational performance and formulating actionable recommendations.
• Experience in preparing executive-level reports, briefings, presentations, and decision-support materials.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently with senior government leaders and a diverse range of stakeholder groups.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities and produce high-quality deliverables within set deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Preferred: Experience working with CDC, HHS, or other federal agencies.
• Preferred: Background in supporting federal strategic planning, performance management, or organizational transformation initiatives.
• Preferred: Familiarity with CDC's mission, organizational structure, programs, and strategic priorities.
• Preferred: Experience with federal performance management frameworks and strategic planning requirements.
• Preferred: Experience in developing logic models, strategy maps, balanced scorecards, performance frameworks, or organizational roadmaps.
• Preferred: Experience with conducting SWOT, PESTLE, benchmarking, gap, or organizational capability analyses.
• Preferred: Experience in creating executive dashboards and performance reports.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
• Preferred: Experience in facilitating senior-level strategic planning workshops or retreats.
• Preferred: Background in supporting organizational change management or transformation initiatives.
• Preferred: Certifications such as PMP, Certified Management Consultant (CMC), Prosci, Lean Six Sigma, or similar qualifications.
• Preferred: A Master's degree in business administration, public administration, public health, strategic management, organizational development, or a related field.
