Strategic Finance – FP&A Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage cargo.one’s FP&A and strategic finance function independently.

• Take ownership of monthly performance reporting, budgeting, planning, and investment analyses.

• Ensure the reporting process is dependable, secure, automated, and nearly hands-free.

• Determine what information to report, the frequency, and the audience, then automate the entire process.

• Assist in designing commission and bonus structures.

• Create a system to track and report commission and bonus outcomes and integrate them into payroll.

• Improve and maintain data quality.

• Establish and manage the controlling and business-partnering rhythm with P&L stakeholders.

• Develop benchmarks for organizational efficiency, returns on AI initiatives, and team productivity.

• Transform benchmarks into decisions regarding capital allocation.

• Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with the CFO.

• Contribute to documentation and presentations for Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and board meetings.

• Report to the CFO and collaborate with finance, legal, human resources, and both senior and extended leadership teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience managing or analyzing financial metrics in B2B SaaS, usage-based, or platform businesses, whether as an operator, investor, or in strategic finance.

• Strong understanding of unit economics and profitability, including the ability to identify key levers for improvement.

• Proven experience building a robust AI solution that is relied upon, rather than just a demonstration.

• Familiarity with AI architecture, ensuring repeatability, quality, and security.

• Capability to lead without formal authority.

• Exceptional communication skills.

• An insatiable curiosity paired with significant determination.

• Must be able to work remotely within a time zone that is within +/- two hours of Berlin time.
