Strategic Account Manager – IT, MSP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Retain and enhance VTG’s most critical accounts.

• Manage a select portfolio of our largest clients while pursuing growth opportunities within it — increasing wallet share, transforming expenses into recurring services, and introducing service lines that the account has yet to purchase.

• Complete the relationship transfer map for each account, facilitate initial executive introductions, and establish your CRM baseline.

• Develop account plans and whitespace assessments for the entire portfolio.

• Independently lead your initial executive QBRs, create an expansion pipeline for coverage, and plan the renewal calendar for the upcoming 12 months.

• Foster cross-functional collaboration across Service Delivery, Operations, Product, Finance, and Support, ensuring delivery excellence that protects and grows each relationship.

• Maintain accurate account plans, forecasts, and pipelines for renewals and expansions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in strategic account management, key accounts, or customer growth positions (IT services, MSP, telecom, SaaS, or related fields).

• A proven history of increasing wallet share and effectively cross-selling/upselling within existing accounts, rather than merely renewing them.

• Demonstrated capability to devise and implement account strategies aligned with growth objectives: whitespace mapping, stakeholder mapping, and execution cadence.

• Strong executive presence, adept at cultivating C-suite relationships and conducting executive QBRs.

• Experience coordinating cross-functional resources (delivery, operations, finance, product) to ensure service delivery is aligned with account growth.

• Proficiency in CRM practices, account planning, and forecasting.

• Ability to articulate technical and delivery results in terms of business value to non-technical executive audiences.
