IT Support Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Deliver internal IT support to employees by troubleshooting hardware, software, and service-related issues.

• Evaluate existing internal IT workflows and systems to pinpoint opportunities for process enhancements.

• Create tools and scripts aimed at automating routine IT resource management and provisioning activities.

• Aid in the administration and configuration of devices utilizing MDM and cloud platforms such as Mosyle, Microsoft Intune, AWS, and GCP.

• Support the establishment of monitoring and alerting systems for internal infrastructures to maintain high availability.

• Generate and sustain comprehensive documentation for IT systems, configurations, and user troubleshooting guides.

• Help in tracking and documenting internal IT assets, including hardware and software licenses.

• Compile summary reports on IT support trends, tool performance, and suggestions for future development initiatives.

• Collaborate with our security team to resolve internal system security challenges and respond to incidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field at a university in Maryland.

• A minimum GPA of 2.5.

• A foundational understanding of IT troubleshooting, operating systems (preferably macOS), and essential IT principles.

• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for tool creation.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Detail-oriented with robust documentation capabilities.

• Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Availability to work 10–20 hours each week.

• Must successfully pass a background check.

• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.

• Must reside within the Continental US, preferably in Maryland.
