This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Assists GitLab in managing strategic large prospects and clients.
• Provides leadership and guidance throughout the pre- and post-sales processes.
• Engages in sales efforts that include identifying and cultivating opportunities within large or strategic accounts.
• Ensures effective implementation and adoption of GitLab products through robust account management and collaboration with pre-and-post sales and support teams.
• Acts as the customer's advocate by contributing product suggestions to our public issue tracker.
• Generates qualified leads and fosters new client relationships alongside our strategic channel partners.
• Enhances understanding of the industry landscape and the company's competitive standing.
• Prepares reports on activities and forecasts.
• Participates in root cause analysis regarding wins and losses.
• Shares insights and lessons learned with the team, including account managers, marketing, and technical teams.
• Aids sales management in articulating customer requirements to product managers and technical support personnel.
• Employs a consultative approach to discuss business challenges with prospects, crafting formal quotes, written sales proposals, or detailed sales presentations that address their needs.
• Develops an account strategy tailored to meet the business requirements of customers.
• Collaborates with the Marketing team on strategic marketing initiatives.
• A genuine commitment to ensuring customers reap the benefits of their investment with you.
• Capability to maintain a high level of account management and oversight.
• Able to work independently on complex projects with minimal supervision.
• Proven experience in selling to large organizations.
• Ability to utilize established relationships and effective sales techniques to achieve success.
• Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
• Preferred background in Git, Software Development Tools, and Application Lifecycle Management.
