• Lead Medline’s sales initiatives within a select group of highly complex or strategically significant regional and national accounts.
• Utilize a consultative approach in collaboration with field sales to meet customer needs by identifying the optimal product mix and uncovering cost-saving opportunities, implementation, inventory availability, and issue resolution.
• Responsible for maintaining existing business relationships and increasing market share through the development of sales plans, strategies, and objectives that align with broader corporate sales and marketing goals.
• Ensure that the development of sales plans, strategies, objectives, policies, and procedures adhere to corporate sales and marketing objectives.
• Oversee internal forecasting procedures.
• Assess customer needs and demands, and create a business case for feasibility utilizing appropriate processes.
• Identify, evaluate, plan, and advocate for ongoing cost reduction initiatives.
• Continuously collect intelligence, document, and share insights on product performance, customer feedback, competitors, consumer attitudes, new opportunities, pricing, promotions, and products.
• Responsible for building and nurturing consultative relationships with key decision-makers at various levels within large strategic groups or accounts.
• Promote Medline’s capabilities to prospective prime vendor accounts while managing and directing existing prime vendor accounts.
• Apply expert market and customer knowledge to Medline Field Sales teams, Specialists, and Product Divisions.
• Evaluate competitive pricing positions to ensure competitive pricing that maximizes sales and profitability within accounts, consistent with brand positioning.
• Develop and sustain existing sales programs.
• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a business or clinical-related discipline.
• At least 7 years of direct sales and/or account management experience, including a similar role within the healthcare industry.
• Proven ability to engage and present to senior management or C-suite executives to influence company or client decisions.
• Demonstrated understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
• Proven capability to identify, connect with, build consensus, and close new business; adept at contract negotiation and deal closure.
• Experience in independently assessing and initiating actions; ability to take charge of situations, teams, or projects.
• Ability to diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex issues, implementing strategies for resolution.
• Demonstrated experience applying standard financial, accounting, and business problem-solving skills to multifaceted business issues.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and facilitating efforts to identify and implement solutions to complex challenges.
• Strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritize, organize, track details, and meet deadlines for multiple projects with varying timelines.
• Familiarity with and use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Position requires up to 80% travel for business purposes (including overnight trips, both in-state and out-of-state).
