
State Expansion Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Spearhead comprehensive planning, governance, execution, and delivery of strategic state expansion initiatives.
• Create and maintain integrated project plans, roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to establish expansion strategies, priorities, launch readiness, and success metrics.
• Lead cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of business-area deliverables.
• Facilitate meetings for the executive steering committee, project status updates, and decision-making sessions.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks, issues, dependencies, and resource limitations.
• Coordinate regulatory filing processes in collaboration with Compliance and Legal teams.
• Oversee third-party vendors, implementation partners, and consultants.
• Work closely with Product, Underwriting, Claims, IT, Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Customer Service to ensure launch readiness.
• Manage project budgets, vendor statements of work, implementation timelines, and financial tracking.
• Prepare executive dashboards, presentations, and status reports.
• Assist with testing, operational readiness, training, go-live planning, and post-launch stabilization activities.
• Establish standardized project governance, documentation, templates, and best practices.
• Drive ongoing improvements to streamline launch processes and minimize implementation timelines.
• A minimum of 5 years of project management experience leading significant, cross-functional enterprise initiatives.
• Experience in Property & Casualty insurance is essential.
• Preference for candidates with state expansion or regulatory implementation experience.
• Proven ability to present to and influence executive leadership.
• Strong comprehension of project governance, portfolio management, and project management methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to manage multiple complex initiatives in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive business, financial, regulatory, and strategic information.
• Proficient in reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting complex documents, reports, contracts, project plans, and regulatory filings.
• Effective communication skills for verbal and written interactions, including presentations, meetings, and conference calls.
• Option for remote or hybrid work, depending on business requirements.
• Occasional travel, including overnight stays, as necessary.
