
Start-Up Operations Manager – Cross Dock Launch

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and integrated operational capability evaluations in collaboration with engineering to ensure that systems and processes fulfill requirements.
• Act as the main operational authority for cross-dock warehouse activities during the launch phase, overseeing fast-paced workflows from incoming receipt to outgoing loading.
• Assist in the development and enhancement of the launch playbook by recording lessons learned and standardizing work processes to facilitate future site replication.
• Supervise the daily operations of the warehouse, guiding large groups of hourly associates and frontline leaders to meet throughput objectives.
• Confirm WMS/WES functionality and track real-time system transactions to identify and resolve flow-through bottlenecks while ensuring data accuracy.
• Promote organizational safety measures by ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations and carrying out audits to verify that employees comply with proper protocols in a dynamic start-up setting.
• Oversee business-specific launch priorities, such as labor planning, shift balancing, and collaboration with cross-functional partners in IT, Supply Chain, and Automation.
• A Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in 3PL warehouse or distribution center operations, particularly in high-volume cross-dock or transshipment settings.
• Advanced exposure to automated warehouse environments (sortation systems/MHE) along with direct experience using WMS/WES platforms and RF scanning technology.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and a proven track record in implementing safety protocols (e.g., LOTO and fall protection) in conjunction with vendors and employees.
• Proven ability to drive launch-critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as throughput, dock-to-stock/dock-to-dock timing, and cost-per-unit.
• Strong capacity to respond swiftly to operational challenges and execute corrective measures in real-time.
• Preferred Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing business units through ramp-up or peak periods.
• Automation Testing: Practical experience with operational testing and acceptance processes for sophisticated automated systems.
• Process Improvement: Background in recognizing inefficiencies and implementing Lean improvements or standardized work processes.
• Up to 80% travel may be required.
• Employees must possess a valid driver’s license and the capability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
• The employee is responsible for holding a credit card and managing personal expenses for bi-weekly reimbursement.
