This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Drive the strategy and implementation of research initiatives across various product teams.
• Collaborate with product leadership to promote research best practices and facilitate evidence-based decision-making.
• Offer research leadership for products or opportunities that are crucial to Workiva's strategy.
• Mentor researchers and user experience team members.
• Review research plans and provide consultation on research best practices.
• Lead the collection of analytics and share insights across multiple teams.
• Plan, coordinate, conduct, analyze, and communicate qualitative, quantitative, and experimental research studies.
• Work alongside designers, product managers, and engineers to identify and prioritize product opportunities.
• Establish consistent research plans and schedules among product teams.
• Utilize a diverse array of research techniques to gain insights into customers, users, and workflows.
• Delegate tasks effectively within team management to ensure balanced workloads.
• Employ evaluation techniques to pinpoint usability needs and enhance implemented features.
• Organize, interpret, and present evidence to key decision-makers.
• Guide collaborators in exploring methods that yield optimal feedback.
• Analyze, synthesize, and communicate findings from tests and research.
• Advocate for user-centered enhancements to products.
• Collaborate with leadership to shape product strategy and link business outcomes to dependable insights.
• A minimum of 5–7 years of professional experience in conducting user research within a product development context.
• A robust portfolio showcasing diverse research methodologies, data analysis techniques, and measurable impact on product design and development.
• An undergraduate degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Design, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in designing, executing, and analyzing mixed-methods research studies.
• Strong skills in qualitative methods, including usability testing, contextual inquiry, interviews, and focus groups.
• Proficiency in quantitative methods, such as surveys and data analytics.
• Experience in developing and implementing data management strategies for UX research projects, including data cleaning, organization, and storage.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration abilities with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% for team and corporate meetings.
• Reliable internet access while working remotely.
• Preferred: Experience in the SaaS industry or a related technology field.
• Preferred: UX Researcher experience within Agile development teams.
• Preferred: Expertise in JTBD-focused research, including job interviews and user-story analysis.
• Preferred: Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques and software.
• Preferred: Knowledge of SQL.
• Preferred: Experience with UserTesting or UserZoom.
• Preferred: Proficiency in QuickSights or other data visualization tools.
• Preferred: Experience mentoring junior UX researchers.
• Preferred: An advanced degree in a relevant field.
• Preferred: Experience conducting global research studies.
