This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +44 more states.
• Plan, design, and execute user research that guides products, policies, content, and design decisions.
• Oversee intricate or multi-faceted research initiatives that inform program and contract strategies.
• Utilize advanced qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to address diverse research requirements.
• Develop insights that direct product priorities and foster stakeholder alignment.
• Promote the integration of research findings across teams to impact roadmap choices.
• Mentor and guide colleagues on user feedback, human behavior, research analysis, and actionable insights.
• Collaborate with experts in policy, design, technology, development, product management, and data analytics.
• Advocate for strategic enhancements to user experiences, emphasizing accessibility and scalability.
• Establish connections across teams, projects, A1M, and clients to enhance delivery outcomes.
• Recognize risks and conflicts, manage upward communication, and escalate issues when necessary.
• Initiate and lead cross-disciplinary projects, providing essential information to other practices.
• Identify and address government regulations and policies impacting projects, such as accessibility, PRA, FOIA, acquisition regulations, and security compliance.
• Represent A1M and project teams to government clients, even in challenging circumstances.
• Actively engage in client virtual meetings, including participation on camera.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Previous experience in government or government consulting at the local, state, or federal level.
• Proven critical thinking skills regarding research processes and outcomes.
• Well-prepared research deliverables, such as reports or presentations.
• Experience in facilitating research synthesis activities and generating insights and intervention opportunities.
• Proven ability to identify opportunities for change and scale successful research efforts within organizations.
• Must be based in the United States, including any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, or U.S. territories.
• Must have resided in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years.
• Cannot be a resident of New York State.
• Must possess legal authorization to work in the U.S. and not require ongoing visa sponsorship.
• Must be a permanent resident of the U.S.
• Must complete a Public Trust background investigation, including SF85 or SF85P as applicable, along with fingerprinting.
• Flexibility with working hours is required to accommodate partners primarily in Eastern Standard Time.
• Active participation in client virtual meetings, including being on camera, is crucial.
• Preferred: experience with social-impact product teams or civic technology.
• Preferred: experience with distributed, cross-functional teams.
• Preferred: personal experience with government health and human services programs.
• Preferred: working knowledge of Medicare, ACA, MACRA, Medicaid, or CHIP.
• Preferred: familiarity with SAFe and agile methodologies.
• Preferred: a college degree in Psychology, Information Science, Graphic Design, or a related field.
