This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead the strategic planning and technical execution of breaking down intricate safety triage processes.
• Create and implement advanced operational and machine learning techniques to facilitate automation and scalability as mileage and geographical operations grow.
• Act as the subject matter expert for human-in-the-loop machine learning systems within the safety domain.
• Define and enhance criteria for producing high-quality human feedback to improve machine learning model efficacy.
• Collaborate with Engineering to design, test, and launch machine learning and Generative AI models and tools aimed at issue discovery, detection, triage efficiency, and quality assurance.
• Leverage AI-driven insights and traditional triage indicators to recognize emerging trends in on-road issues, risk scenarios, and edge cases.
• Formulate data-driven approaches for issue discovery and monitoring utilizing outputs from machine learning models.
• Connect AI/ML development with operational implementation.
• Draft and promote technical policies, standards, strategic roadmaps, and process blueprints.
• Counsel senior stakeholders on the long-term technical strategy and operational capabilities.
• Bachelor's degree or 7+ years of applicable experience in Autonomous Vehicle Software Quality Operations / Machine Learning Operations.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee complex technical projects and collaborate across Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Systems Engineering teams.
• Proficient in all stages of the machine learning development lifecycle, including data preparation, training, validation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
• Experience in machine learning testing and validation, encompassing dataset quality assurance, bias detection, edge-case scenario testing, and performance assessment using statistical metrics.
• Quick learner with the capability to apply new concepts and utilize proprietary tools effectively.
• Strong knowledge of driving regulations and compliance.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while exercising sound judgment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Preferred: Technical undergraduate degree.
• Preferred: Experience in the Autonomous Vehicle sector.
• Preferred: Familiarity with LLM/transformer models and/or machine learning for robotics.
• Preferred: Proficiency in SQL querying/data analysis.
• Preferred: Experience working with offshore teams or multiple local operations hubs.
